What’s a new popular style trend for baths? Black is the new brushed bronze.

The” white” trend continues to be strong for many kitchen and bath renovations. I saw my first black shower door when judging a national design contest 3 or 4 years ago? Like any trend, it is important to understand why to use something beyond its gratuitous glam. We like it in some of these examples to break up the spotless purity with a powerful presence. As designers we often challenge our clients to consider something out of the ordinary and maybe you could consider adding a black statement to your next bathroom. Many will say it is too industrial or modern, but in the right combination it adds an understated pop of contrast that sets the white off even more.

Recently the frameless glass showers have found their clean lines outlined in black or even mullioned- reminiscent of windows. Below are some ideas captured throughout the web of various treatments and while many are styled with more modern cabinets and hardware we can see this still fitting into a clean traditional space with different pairings. It only takes a lighting fixture, mirror frame, or tile choice to easily pull this look together.
