Light it Up

One of the best parts of a renovation is choosing that great lighting fixture  is the icing on the cake. Often times clients have seen something they love, don’t know who made it and then describe it to us.

Our designers will either track it down or find similar pieces that will satisfy the description and just as important… make sure the size of the fixture matches the scale the client is looking for. With that said; here are some of our favorites from lighting resources we frequent. Some may be familiar and others off the beaten path!

We love Visual Comfort as a lighting source. They have been around long enough to know what works- their assortment is considerable, but refined enough that you can’t go wrong with their offering. The first clear glass chandelier below with its gathered glass globes feels like a cloud floating by; and what a treat it would be to see it lit. It comes in one size only- Large!- it is a statement piece and is available in three finishes.

Speaking to Benjamin Moore’s color pick for the year, the painted pendant below By Hudson Valley Lighting, in Blue Bird, is right on trend and still feels timeless with brass accents. It comes in a host of colors and sizes including sconces, but this one is kitchen-ready!

Flush Mounts are practical when you want overhead lighting that won’t impede on headroom. The white wrapped flush mount from Hudson Valley Lighting hits all the right notes in crisp white with navy and brass accents. Classic style awaits.

Serena and Lily with its laidback California and coastal vibe is a great place to find a lot of natural woven lighting. Here is a chevron patterned pendant made from bleached and natural rattan that can be used over a dining table in the large size and over a kitchen island using two smaller sizes. And since we were shopping around, we found this minimalistic concrete and wood combo pendant that may not be for every situation because of its opacity, but would be effective over an island.

Sconces offer a simple touch of ambient lighting anywhere in the home. Restoration Hardware is one of our go to sources for lighting because it is a behemoth when it comes to selection-sizing, finishes and every option in between. The Rain Collection from Restoration Hardware feels both new and unique. Since it the Rain Sconce is UL approved for damp locations, we can see this making a statement in a bath.
