Raising Awareness to End Hunger
The Wiese Company is partnering again with A Place to Turn in Natick to raise awareness about ending hunger in our community. We are doing this in two ways in 2019:
- Hosting a Food & Clothing Drive May 13-31 where our showroom will be a drop spot for donations during business hours.
- Riding on A Place to Turn‘s cycling team in the 8th Annual Ride for Food hosted by Three Squares New England.
May marks the beginning of the seasonal ritual of spring cleaning. The Wiese Company wants to capitalize on this to benefit A Place to Turn. We have been partners with this organization for years and believe greatly in their commitment to providing emergency food and clothing to neighbors in the Metrowest community. Summer is the slowest donation period the pantry sees as people leave town for vacation so setting them up for the summer months ahead is important to us.
The Memorial Day weekend offers a good time to take stock of what’s in your pantry and offer up some food or fill a bag as you stock up for your Memorial Day BBQ. You can learn more about their donation request list and most needed items here. A Place to Turn is also in need of gently used summer clothing and shoes for ages 4-16 so clean out the kids’ closets and upcycle what no longer fits.
To simplify donating you may drop your donations MAY 13-31 at The Wiese Company Showroom during business hours Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. Please help us in helping those who need our community’s support to continue their good work and encourage others to do the same!
To further our commitment to A Place to Turn we will once again be joining this fall for the 8th Annual Ride for Food. This event is hosted by Three Squares a Day New England whose mission is to raise critical funds and awareness for local hunger-relief organizations.
